9 Tammuz – The Breach of Jerusalem’s Walls
God Gives Grace to the Humble
On this 9th day of Tammuz, we remember the day Jerusalem’s walls were breached — a moment when captivity seemed inevitable, and freedom felt lost.
The Spirit of God to Mayra
In this month of Pride: God gives grace to the humble.
– The Spirit of God
It is written
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
It is written
14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord’s house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
“Not feel sorry for Tammuz” — this phrase points straight to what the Lord showed Ezekiel. God calls the mourning of Tammuz (a pagan deity) an abomination. His people are not called to feel sorrow for Tammuz — we are called to reject every idol that steals affection, attention, or loyalty from the Holy One of Israel.
The Spirit of God to Mayra
I am your secret place.
I am all you need.
– The Spirit of God
It is written
32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
It is written
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
